Headteacher Mr Newell Celebrates the A-Level Aspire Students

On March 21st, Headteacher Mr Karl Newell spent lunch celebrating the Year 12 and Year 13 Aspire Students. The 18 top achievers are all well on the path to success. All of the Year 13 students have offers to attend Russell Group Universities. They include Alexander Senelle, who has an offer to study Biochemistry at Manchester University, Rachel Milligan (who has already secured an A* in her EPQ) has an offer to study Maths at Durham and Dominie Smith-Scott who has received several offers to study Medicine next year.

All of the Year 12 students in attendance are completing the EPQ and are learning how to research and reference at University level. Some of their EPQ projects include researching the science behind horoscopes, nuclear fusion and the latest treatments for cancer.

Mr Newell spoke to the students about their paths ahead; their upcoming exams, university choices and future careers. He discussed how their path may not always be easy but the skills they are learning now at Crompton House help to prepare them for their journey. The students discussed their dreams and goals plus the characteristics they need to have to become the leaders of the future. Mindset featured heavily in the discussion and all agreed that a positive mindset is essential to success.

We know that all of the students are a credit to Crompton House and help to make the Sixth Form such a wonderful place!
