BTEC Forensic Science is a very popular alternative to A Levels. It is accepted as an entry requirement for universities and further education colleges, and is highly valued by employers.
This course is aimed at students who have an interest in science but who may find the examination based courses of A level Biology, Chemistry or Physics too demanding.

By their very nature, BTECs provide a more practical, real-world approach to learning alongside a theoretical background, giving students the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment. Students study a series of individual units and these can accumulate to form a qualification that is the same value as an AS or an A Level. Each unit is assessed through the completion of assignments and all units are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.

These accumulate to produce a qualification graded at Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*. There are no examinations.

Students will have to meet deadlines set by teachers, but can do this at their own pace rather than having to perform to the time constraints of an exam. Progress is monitored individually by teachers who will provide personal support and guidance, helping students develop their learning skills and reach their potential. Learning is progressive, from small-scale and simple topics to larger and more complex themes.

The Business Studies course offers an excellent range of classroom resources.  the classroom activity is supplemented by the opportunity to experience a real business environment.

This course is ideal for students who wish to continue with their science studies but who do not want to study A level Biology, Chemistry or Physics. It will combine with any other A level subject.
